Classes

What  is Meditation?

Meditation isn’t about becoming a different person, a new person, or even a better person. It’s about training in awareness and getting a healthy sense of perspective. You’re not trying to turn off your thoughts or feelings. You’re learning to observe them without judgment. With time and practice, you may start to better understand them as well. Learning to meditate is like learning any other skill. Think of it like exercising a muscle that you’ve never really worked out before. It takes consistent practice to get comfortable. It’s usually easier if you have a teacher. We offer guided 1-2-1 and group meditation classes as well as breathing techniques, visualisations and focus based meditation techniques.

What are the potential benefits?

Meditation can encourage deep relaxation and is noted to promote a calm, peaceful sense of wellbeing.

How long are sessions?

1-2-1 Guided Meditation Classes at Clarity are offered in sessions of 45 minutes. The classes will be tailored to your individual needs. In the initial consultation we will discuss your desires and what you hope to achieve through the classes. Then at the end of each session we will discuss how you're feeling your practice is developing and discuss the content for the next class. Together we can set daily meditation practice for you to try at home to improve your personal practice. It takes time to get comfortable with your mind. There might be setbacks along the way but that’s part of meditating. Keep practicing. Group classes and workshops follow a pre set lesson plan and can be 45-90 minutes long depending on the class you choose. Some workshops will include other teachings and skills such as reiki, yoga, mindfulness or CBT techniques.
